A Nightmare on Elm Street is a 1984 horror movie directed by Wes Craven, and the first film of the A Nightmare on Elm Street franchise. Set in the fictional Midwestern town of Springwood, Ohio, the plot revolves around several teenagers being terrorized in their nightmares by the ghost of a serial child murderer named Freddy Krueger. Freddy Krueger, exists in the "dream world" yet can kill in the "real world".
Mezco Toyz created many Nightmare on Elm Street toy figures. Gemmy Industries Inc. created a talking Fredy doll and Sideshow Collectibles created some highly articulated and detailed Freddy figures. Many of these are highly collectible.
